Empire is Rising

The world has seen many mighty empires and many powerful emperors but we also have heard only a few names even among large empires. The Golden Age of any empire is mostly during the reign of a powerful emperor and and after him, the kingdom declines. The age of kings has been persistent wars to subdue other kingdoms and force them to accept their suzerainty. Then the king establishes a big empire under his name and sets rules and standards to bring all his kingdoms under one umbrella.

The idea of federalism emerged from nation states of the imperialist empires. Nation states exist for the ultimate purpose of being part of a empire.Technology has reduced distance and allowed Universal Empires or what they call the New World Order compared to powerful regional empires. In Ancient world, we had powerful regional civilizations but the growth of imperialism subjected these empires to decay. The fact that English language is the default language of majority of the world speaks for Britain's success in imperialising the world despite its lack of control over physical assets. 

History is replete with But as soon as powerful kings die, the kingdom's vassals proclaim their independence. Political Parties in nation states are mostly dynastic and as such autocratic to the point of demanding unflinching loyalty from their team members. These political dynasties survive only till strong leaders remain. Once the leadership weakens, the individual parties establish their own identity. In the case of India, we have seen NCP, YSRCP, TMC emerging from congress and taking over congress space in their state only after the decline of last powerful leader,Indira Gandhi. 

Every Nation state eventually becomes a Empire since the person ruling the nation state wants unbridled power and seeks to subjugate all states in the federal structure. He will not rest till all states uniformedly accept his suzerainty. In olden days in India, Ashwamedha Yoga was performed after the sacrificial horse roamed through all states with noone stopping it. Those who stop have to face war from the king. So u accept the suzerainty&pay tribute or face subjugation. When states were conquered, the conqueror had two options, to either place a dummy who acts as their agent having direct control or allow them to rule as long as they rise to defend the emperor and pay Tribute. The latter indirect control always led to vassal states independence whenever the EMPIRE had weak leaders. History teaches us that the Roman Empire collapsed precisely due to approaching the latter approach. 

Globalization was started by Imperialists who used English Language and the Church to subjugate local populations and over few generations deculturalize them to the colonial power's culture. Lakhs of tribes lost their ancient knowledge that way. Romans did exactly the same. Asterix comic funnily tells us the same story that they alone repelled the Romans. Even USA rose from being colony of the British. In the present time,the world is again polarized into power structures. QUAD, BRICS,AUKUS, NATO are alliances that are accelerating this polarization. They are only steps towards establishing a single empire. Economic policies written in the west are being dumped through US controlled agencies through all its member states. USA is just like imperialist UK. It exerts its influence through many systems and agencies and forces countries into blocks. 

The Nation states ultimately have to unite under a strong emperor. The American Empire was established in the first world war and ever since, we have seen its expansion and control over several countries through its posts. The west control several countries today with their titular heads in those countries. European Union Integration also faced many hurdles since many countries refused to accept an Empire once again. 

Post Covid, we increasingly are hearing the term The New World Order of Private-Public Stakeholder control over government. Covid has accelerated establishment of the Empire. Public Assets are increasingly being privatized. Entire nation is brought under one umbrella. Demonitization, GST and other reforms increasingly are targeted to build an Empire from a Nation State. A Nation state cannot remain for long in independence. It will be swallowed sooner or later. Within the Nation state, the autonmomous regions which hitherto enjoyed their diversity soon find themselves being forced by a Cultural Shift to one Culture, the culture of the ruling class. Thats when empire building would have moved to high gear.
